We were contracted by Digital Draping to create detailed digital assets for use in an online configurator. We translated the sewing patterns into Marvelous Designer, created detailed sewn assemblies and simulations. The final simulations were exported as high density models and imported into Modo for lighting, texturing and rendering. Each model was able to be rendered out with a large variety of fabric options, offering a much more flexible pipeline than traditional photography.

CGI has a distinct advantage here over traditional photography, as we can easily create physically plausible materials, then control the desired mix of natural flaws such as polishing and tooling marks to create natural variation and warmth.
