We were contracted by Digital Draping to create detailed digital assets for a small range of clothing by Stantt. We received basic sewing patterns for the dress pant, chino, five pocket and chino shorts, along with some photo reference of the fabrics. We translated the patterns into Marvelous Designer, created detailed sewn assemblies and simulations, tweaking the patterns to improve fit. The final simulations were exported as high density models and imported into Modo for lighting and texturing then rendered with mpath.

The exported mesh from Marvelous Designer was kept as a high density triangulated mesh to maintain as much of the simulation detail as possible. The final models did not require further manipulation and were converted to static mesh items in Modo, so the density was not an issue. Care was taken in Marvelous to create clean UVs, ensuring fast and accurate texture application in Modo.
